Tango on Iceland
Tango Club Reykjavik was founded in April of 2000. The purpose of the club is to promote Argentine tango in Iceland by holding regular activities and events. In addition to maintaining a website and mailing list, the Tango Club holds a weekly milonga at Kaffitár and a practica twice a month at Kramhúsið dance school, and also plans monthly milongas in various venues. From the beginning, the Tango Club has collaborated with Kramhúsið to bring in guest teachers from Argentina and Europe, and has also collaborated with Idno and the National Theater on other events. The largest annual event is the international tango festival, Tango on Iceland.
